Terms of Use
Last updated 21 September 2026
Plain terms for a small app. Using SortBridge means you accept them.
The service
SortBridge reads content you choose to share with it, identifies books, films, and television it mentions, and files them into lists in your account. It is currently in testing and provided free of charge.
Your account
You need an account, because your lists are stored server-side so they follow you between devices. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address or Apple ID you sign in with. You must be 13 or older to use SortBridge.
What you share into it
You keep ownership of everything you share and everything you write. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store that content, process it to identify titles, and show it back to you.
Share only content you are allowed to share. Do not use SortBridge to break the terms of another service, to infringe someone’s copyright, or to process content that is unlawful.
Other platforms
SortBridge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Apple, Goodreads, or Letterboxd. Those platforms control what they make available, and they can change it at any time — which may change what SortBridge can read from them, without notice. Metadata about books, films, and television comes from Google Books and from TMDB; SortBridge is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to access another person’s account or data;
- probe, scrape, or overload the service, or work around its rate limits;
- use it to build a competing dataset for redistribution;
- resell or sublicense access to it.
Automated results are not guaranteed
Identifying a title from a caption is a judgement, and sometimes it will be wrong or incomplete. That is precisely why nothing enters a list until you confirm it. Do not rely on SortBridge as a system of record — export your lists if they matter to you.
Availability
This is a beta. Features will change, and there may be downtime and, occasionally, data loss. We will not intentionally delete your data, and account deletion is always available to you. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Ending it
Delete your account from the Account screen whenever you like; that ends these terms. We may end them with reasonable notice, and we will give you a chance to export first unless the account is being suspended for abuse.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data beyond what a reasonable export would have preserved. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
