SortBridge vs Letterboxd: which one do you need?
SortBridge turns the films and shows recommended in the TikToks, reels and Reddit threads you save into one watchlist, with where to watch each one, then helps you and your friends pick one. Letterboxd is built for what comes after: logging, rating and reviewing what you watched, and following other film fans. Many film fans use both.

How do I get films from TikTok into a watchlist?
In Letterboxd, you watch the video, note each title, then search for it and add it. That works for one film. It gets slow for a reel that names ten.
In SortBridge, you share the post. It lists every film and show named, matched to the real title with its year, for you to tick. If the titles are only shown on screen or said aloud, record your screen while it plays and your phone reads them. For Reddit, record yourself scrolling the comments. Each title keeps who recommended it, and shows where to watch it in your country. More on building a watchlist from the reels you save.
What is Letterboxd built for?
Everything after you press play. You can log a film with the date, a rating and a review, keep a diary, and make lists. You can follow people whose taste you trust and read popular reviews. SortBridge leaves the diary to Letterboxd and focuses on the step before: what to watch, and getting everyone to agree.
Can you use them together?
- Save in SortBridge. Share each post that recommends a film or show.
- Pick from it. Search by title or who recommended it, or make a poll with friends.
- Log in Letterboxd. After you watch, rate and review it there.
Which is better for movie night?
For deciding, SortBridge. Make a poll from your list and everyone swipes yes or no alone. Ranked choice picks one film, and if you agree on nothing, you get a second chance. Questions
Can SortBridge add films to my Letterboxd watchlist?
No. The two apps are not linked. You can export your SortBridge lists as a CSV file at any time, with each title, year and who recommended it.
Can I import my Letterboxd watchlist into SortBridge?
No. SortBridge does not import from Letterboxd. It builds your lists from the posts you share to it, and from screenshots of posts you saved before.
Does SortBridge do TV shows?
Yes. Films and TV get separate lists, because a two-hour film and four seasons are different choices. Books get a list of their own too.
Does SortBridge have a diary or reviews?
No. You can tick off what you have watched, and that is all: SortBridge is about what to watch next. For a diary and reviews, use Letterboxd alongside it.
